Notice of Snow Emergency
January 31, 2022 at 12:00 noon – Sagamore Hills Township has authorized the Chair of the Board of Trustees or their designee with the authority to declare a snow emergency as authorized by Ohio Revised Code Section 505.17 and 4521.02. The purpose is to declare general snow emergency authorization for purposes of regulating parking of vehicles on Township streets during snow emergencies to protect the health, safety and welfare of residents in this area.
Regulation of parking on Township streets during snow emergencies is necessary in order to expedite clearing and/or treating of snow or ice upon Township streets by Township vehicles.
Pursuant to my authority as Chair of the Sagamore Hills Township Board of Trustees do hereby declare a snow emergency and by making of an announcement of such emergency to the local news media, requesting that the local news media announce that such an emergency has been declared, specifying that said declaration shall be in effect starting on Wednesday, February 2, 2022 at 5:00 p.m. and ending on Friday, February 4, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. or until further directive.
The Sagamore Hills Township Police Department is hereby authorized to order into storage any vehicle parked in violation of this declaration. The owner or any lien holder of a vehicle ordered into storage may claim the vehicle upon presentation of proof of ownership, which may be shown by a certificate of title to the vehicle, and payment of all expenses, charges, and fines incurred as a result of the parking violation and removal and storage of the vehicle.
Notice is further given that the above Snow Emergency/Snow Parking Ban of the Sagamore Hills Township shall be provided to the news media and posted by the Sagamore Hills Township Police Department in conspicuous places within the Township.
